Turismo_cinesePartnership agreements have been signed between China Tourism Academy and European Travel Commission (ETC) in view of EU-China year of tourism 2018.

According to European Travel Commission, arrivals from China will be turning fundamental for Europe loosing competitiveness at the moment. In 2016 11 million Chinese tourists visited Europe, just 1% of Chinese population. China more than other Countries invests in international travel, spending more than 200 billion dollars abroad every year (120 million tourists).

Europe aims at becoming the best world destination for Chinese tourists through a promotion project launched in Beijing. Training the companies all over Europe is a must in this sense.

Rome based Select Holding and Welcome Chinese have been chosen by ETC for this purpose as they are the only official companies in Europe recognized by the Chinese government as exclusive partners for the development of organization and institutional activities.

The deeply different culture and habits of Chinese tourists will condition their choosing their voyage: language limits, electronic payment limits, differences in providing personal safety. Welcome Chinese’s aim is to train operators on “needs and expectations of the modern Chinese tourist”.

Welcome Chinese’s CEO Jacopo Sertoli, declared: “Europe’s priority is to attract as many tourists. In order to reach this aim it is necessary to provide Chinese tourists with various voyage programs, activities and experiences explained in Chinese language respectful of Chinese habits”. According to the data collected, in order to reserve an hotel Chinese tourists require free wi-fi, electric kettle, the guide, the hotel’s website and reception services as well as Chinese speaking TV programs. It is also essential for Chinese tourists to have the possibility to pay by China UnionPay the most popular Chinese digital payment system abroad.
