On the occasion of New Year's Eve, the stage of the Teatro Argentina lights up with the colors of the show Alles Walzer, with new choreographies by Renato Zanella to music by Johann Strauss, Josef Strauss and Gustav Mahler, for twelve dancers of the Daniele Cipriani Company, with Ana Klašnja and Kenta Yamamoto principal dancers of the Ljubljana Opera House and w with Davide Dato, principal dancer of the Vienna State Opera in the role of lead dancer.
The show, which in the title indicates the invitation to dance expressed by the master of ceremonies at the beginning of the first waltz of the evening - was born by taking up the best of Strauss' melodies, maintaining the dynamics, liveliness and the typical atmosphere of Viennese dances. The evening opens with a dedication to Verdi by Strauss Jr. himself with the melodies from the opera A masked ball to historically link the Viennese balls to the Venetian masked balls from which they derive. Then follow the best-known melodies of the Strauss family such as the Blue Danube, the Spring Waltz, the Polka, The Viennese Blood and the famous Perpeetung mobile, just to name a few. A surprise ending is represented by the very slow waltz of Symphony no. 5 by Gustav Mahler, better known as Adagietto which marks the end of the era of Johann Strauss son but which, at the same time, crystallises it into an immortal art.
Renato Zanella, internationally successful choreographer and theater director, was director of the ballet of the Vienna State Opera for ten years and choreographer of the most beautiful editions of the Vienna New Year's Concert in the world.
