The show, as part of the jazz festival "A fertile land", was born from the collaboration between the quartet of the double bass player and composer Federica Michisanti and the dancer and choreographer among the greatest in the international arena, Virgilio Sieni.
The quartet, formed by the cellist Vincent Courtois, the percussionist Michele Rabbia and the clarinetist Louis Sclavis, all extraordinary musicians, offers compositions by Federica Michisanti herself, characterized by a sound that draws on cultured European music and the jazz avant-garde, leaving a lot of space improvisation - as in the best jazz tradition - and enriched by the rhythm of the drums. The scene thus becomes almost like an agora, where gestures and sounds that generate emotions meet.
Virgilio Sieni, after having studied in Italy, he specialized in Japan, where he deepened the artistic movement of Shintaido which in his performances combines martial arts, dance and the use of the voice; he has also always collaborated with musicians of great value, from Steve Lacy to Evan Parker, from Scodanibbio to Balanescu. Federica Michisanti studied in Rome at the University of Music and the Saint Louis College of Music and at the Siena Jazz and Città di Castello seminars; won the Top jazz 2018 in the new Italian talents category and his album Silent Rides ranked seventh among the best Italian records of 2018.
