The duo Hamid Drake-Pasquale Mirra is on stage of the New Auditorium to offer us an evening in which sound research prevails: the two jazz musicians manage to blend their different experiences, creating a unique musical synergy.
The compositions, all based on improvisation, as in the best jazz tradition, therefore seem to apparently take different paths, only to meet in musical moments that are never equal to themselves, thanks to the creativity of the two extraordinary performers. The melodic paths develop through extemporaneousness, through an evocative use of Drake's instruments and voice, where the two apparently distant cultures of belonging merge, creating an imaginary bridge between the dreamlike element and suspended melodies: the percussions of African and oriental Drake's ethnic drums blend with the eclecticism of Mirra's vibraphone, to lead us through an unforgettable sonic journey.
