The show Macbeth, the hidden things by director Carmelo Rifici, through the rewriting of Shakespearean tragedy, explores the interiority of the actors and archetypes of the collective unconscious.
An important part of this work, in fact, were the analysis sessions led by the Jungian psychoanalyst Giuseppe Lombardi and the psychotherapist Luciana Vigato, in which the actors retraced the main themes of the play starting from their own personal experiences.
The director divided his project in three parts. In the first there was a psychoanalytic analysis of the actors involved in the show; from here it moved on to the analysis of the characters, in particular of Macbeth, a mysterious figure who on the one hand seems to want to discover what lies beyond the visible things, on the other, he wants to destroy their meaning. The third and final part is instead linked to the collective unconscious, the "netherworld" of hidden impulses and desires.
