Special openings of 2026 at the Gabii Archaeological Park

The special openings in 2026 at the Gabii Archaeological Park form part of the Unexpected Itineraries of Rome, the project aimed at enhancing, facilitating access to, communicating and promoting itineraries that lie outside traditional tourist routes, including in outlying areas of the city characterised by elements of great natural and scenic importance, as well as archaeological sites and remains of immense historical, cultural and artistic interest. Together, these create places of unique beauty, yet their history is little known even to the Romans who live among them every day.

The Osa-Gabii and San Vittorino Itineraries are situated in one of the most beautiful and interesting areas of the outermost part of Municipality VI: the eastern slope of the great plain surrounding Rome, known as the Agro Romano Antico, a triangular area bounded by three consular roads (Tiburtina, Prenestina and Casilina/Labicana); an area bordering several municipalities in the Rome metropolitan area.

Below are the dates of the special opening days up to December 2026: 19-20 September; 26-27 September; 3-4 October; 10-11 October; 17-18 October; 24-25 October; 31 October; 1 November; 7-8 November; 14-15 November; 6 December. On opening days, the park is open from 9.30 am to 1 pm, with last admission at 12 noon (As a one-off, on 27 September the park will be open in the afternoon, from 4.30 pm to 8 pm).
