From 20 to 22 June, Rome’s Municipio IX, in collaboration with U.N.O.E. (National Union of Event Organisers), local entrepreneurs and associations active in the area, will light up the EUR district with an event spread across squares, parks and iconic locations, celebrating the identity of the area with music, sport, art, entertainment and spectacular lighting displays.
The scheduled initiatives have been designed to attract a wide audience, from children to families and young people. The events that will transform the district’s squares, parks and stairways into an open-air stage include: the “Fiera Birra Eur - Festival della Birra Artigianale” (Eur Beer Fair - Craft Beer Festival), the “Villaggio dello Sport by Cisalfa”, with sports and recreational activities for children, the national competition “I Superbravi e i Superbelli d’Italia” (on 20 June), and the “Eur Music Contest” (20-21 June) in the EUR Central Park, a competition between emerging artists linked to the Music Fest.
The main event is however the Notte Bianca (White Night) show (on 21 June from 7.30 p.m.) on the Scalinata dei Santi Pietro e Paolo (Scalea Carlo Mosca). This is a marathon of music, dance, comedy and fashion opened by institutional greetings from Mayor Roberto Gualtieri, President of Municipio IX Titti Di Salvo and Vice-President Augusto Gregori, creators of the “Eur District” project, the first Roman municipal brand inspired by the great European capitals. Many guests are expected, from Noemi to Diana Del Bufalo, Miriam Galanti, Imma Battaglia and Eva Grimaldi, together with young talents, performers and emerging designers. The event is also an opportunity to promote important social messages, such as the one against gender violence, disseminated thanks to a flash mob organised by the municipality’s Equal Opportunities Commission.
