21 Mai 2019

From June 12 Air China will connect Fiumicino airport to Hangzhou, capital of the Chinese province of Zhejiang, the ancient capital of silk and an important center for textile companies.

The new route will bring to ten Chinese destinations connected with the international airport of the Capital, which in 2014 was the first airport in the world to obtain the Welcome Chinese certification, and which in recent years has built an ad hoc offer for Chinese passengers.

It will be operated three days a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, with Airbus 330-200 and will allow passengers to arrive at their destination, both in Rome and in Hangzou, early in the morning.

China is thus confirmed as an area of strategic development for Rome, and the new route of Air China confirms the primary role of Fiumicino airport as a European reference point between the Asian country and the Old Continent.

Italy is the European destination preferred by Chinese tourists, which have reached 3 million arrivals and 5 million presences, with a 20% growth forecast in 2019.
