The Teatro Olimpico hosts the evocative show inspired by Dante's work, conceived on the occasion of the celebrations of the 700th anniversary of the death of the Supreme Poet.
Inferno 2021 is dance as a work of art, thanks to the wonderful choreography, athletic skills, musical talent and beauty of the gestures of the protagonists - six extraordinary dancers-acrobats from NoGravity, the performing arts company founded and directed by Emiliano Pellisari - protagonists in a set without sets, a black backdrop with Caravaggesque references.
On stage, the real mixes with the virtual; light, sound and illusion blend with dance, circus athletics and miming. The performers become super puppets, moving fluidly but with geometric precision, appearing from the dark and giving life to amazing and fascinating patterns, symmetries and images.
The human body is wrapped in wet fabrics, bandaged with ropes and rags. It defies gravity, hovers in flight, hangs in the air, to the rhythm of Scelsi's contemporary music, Terry Ryley's electronics and world sounds, between moments of pure energy and poetic atmosphere.
