Now in its 20th edition this year, the music festival takes place entirely in the gardens of the 16th-century Villa Giulia, considered in the mid-nineteenth century “the eighth wonder of the world”: its protagonists are illustrious artists and composers, guests of the Ensemble Seicentonovecento residing in Villa Lante on the Gianicolo Hill.
The program includes great classics and musical rarities, such as Schubert’s masterpiece Die schöne Müllerin, the Italia-Germania 2-2 evening, with Bach and Telemann facing Scarlatti and Vivaldi, but also the silent film Quo vadis? with the new soundtrack by Antonio Coppola, and again the work of Uuno Klami, an important Finnish composer. .
The concerts are also an opportunity to visit the Museum of Villa Giulia, the most representative of the Etruscan world, the Villa and its architectural garden with the first water theater in history: an invitation to spend a special day in a special place .
