The choreographer Sasha Waltz returns to the Argentina Theater, as part of Romaeuropa Festival, as a dancer, in dialogue with cellist Anastasia Kobekina on Johann Sebastian Bach's cello suites.
Sasha Waltz, historically one of the most acclaimed performers at the Romaeuropa Festival and considered one of the most brilliant choreographers internationally, has chosen this choreography for her return, featuring Anastasia Kobekina, one of the most important cellists of her generation. At the heart of this special encounter, in the spirit of Sasha Waltz's projects that intertwine music, dance, and space, are Johann Sebastian Bach's cello suites, of which Kobekina recently released a major new recording. In the show, the two artists explore Bach's music, combining cello and body in an intense and sensitive dialogue, enriched by a new composition by American musician Bryce Dessner, founder and member of The National. The result is a performance that allows us to appreciate the beauty of Bach's music from a completely new perspective.
