In October, the Ottobrata Romana returns to the Sinopoli Hall of the Auditorium Parco della Musica with the Orchestra Popolare Italiana and the Coro Popolare directed by Anna Rita Colaianni, to commemorate and celebrate the great heritage of Roman folk song, performing both historic pieces and more contemporary interpretations.
For the event, now in its 17th edition, Ambrogio Sparagna has created an original show dedicated to the rich repertoire of ancient Roman song, featuring descriptions of natural views of the Eternal City through the use of stornelli, strambotti, and some famous street serenades. The performances are entrusted to a great singer of Roman music, Marco Conidi of the Orchestraccia, and to Roxana Ene, a promising young Roman singer who at times recalls the unforgettable voice of Gabriella Ferri.
We also remember that the actress Jasmine Trinca, winner of the 2025 Gabriella Ferri Prize, on this occasion performs some unpublished poems composed by Gabriella in the last years of her life, while the Popular Choir performs some lyrics by Trilussa set to music by Ambrogio Sparagna.
