The concert, part of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia's Symphony Season at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, features Weber's Oberon Overture, Tchaikovsky's Piano Concert No. 1, and Dvořák's Symphony No. 8. The Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Orchestra will be conducted by Manfred Honeck.

The Overture from Oberon, by Carl Maria von Weber, is an orchestral piece that introduces the last, unfinished German Romantic opera, composed in 1826, a work capable of constructing enchanted worlds; the Overture represents a powerful opening that captures its fairytale essence.

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Piano Concert No. 1 in B-flat minor, Op. 23 - composed between 1874 and 1875 - one of the most famous and performed piano concertos in the world, renowned for its monumental grandeur, drama, and passion, is here entrusted to the elegant touch and extraordinary technique of Seong-Jin Cho. A symbol of Romantic pianism, with its rhapsodic character, the concerto seems to have been written in one go by the composer on a wave of happy inspiration.

The evening concludes with the joyful lightness and flamboyant tones of Antonín Dvořák's Symphony No. 8 in G major (Op. 88) (B163), known as the "English Symphony", composed in 1889 and considered, along with others, one of Dvořák's finest symphonic works.
