On Sunday, 29 March, the Vertical Race, a competitive and non-competitive 10-kilometre race organised by Forhans Team in collaboration with VERTICAL – the Italian Foundation for the Treatment of Paralysis, returns.
The sporting event, approved by FIDAL – Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera – is conceived to welcome everyone: a race that celebrates inclusion for people with disabilities, an opportunity for beginners to discover the joy of running, and a new challenge for more experienced runners.
The route for this second edition, which is even more intense, spectacular, and engaging, has been designed to be accessible and inclusive, passing through some of Rome’s most fascinating locations: starting and finishing at Viale della XVII Olimpiade, the race winds through unique, urban views and sites of historical, architectural, and artistic interest, such as the Auditorium Parco della Musica, the PalaTiziano, Igor Mitoraj’s Goddess Roma, the gardens in Piazza Mazzini, the monument to the sailors of Italy, the Ponte della Musica Armando Trovajoli (Music Bridge), and the Ponte Duca d’Aosta (Duca d'Aosta Bridge).
1,500 participants are ready to take part, united by a genuine spirit of equality, respect and solidarity. By participating, they will be supporting Fondazione Vertical’s research on spinal cord injuries and dedicating their run to a special person, whose name will be displayed on their race bib. They will be supported by 200 volunteers and medical staff, who will provide real-time assistance along the route.
