Passionate readers can read everywhere and anytime, what matters is having the right book. But culture can be promoted and made increasingly accessible and available to all, for example with the widespread urban library of the “e-LOV. Leggere Ovunque” project, an idea conceived by the Forum del Libro and the Libraries of Rome.

Already available to users of Rome’s public transportation network, the digital library now arrives in the city’s food markets. The Magliana Market is the first one hosting the panels showing covers of books, audio books and music tracks: people can download them for free in a few seconds on their smartphones or tablets by simply scanning a QR Code.

There is a wide range of categories to suit all tastes and age groups: Italian literature and international classics, children’s books, poetry and theater, women’s literature, classical music and opera. Two special sections have been designed for food markets’ clients: “Food and cooking”; and “Rome” with books on the history of the city and its major poets.
