On 8 November 2026, the Roma Capannelle Hippodrome hosts a day of sport and entertainment featuring leading champions from Italian and European racing scenes.
The programme includes seven races comprising three highly anticipated Grand Prix events, all recognised as Group 3 races: the Premio Roma, a race of the highest international prestige over classic distances; the Premio Lydia Tesio, the historical and elegant race reserved for female horses; and the Premio Berardelli, a major event for promising two-year-old talents.
The event also features the Mercato della Terra (Earth Market), a commendable initiative that aims to offer the public more than just the simple act of buying and selling. It offers an authentic encounter with the local area's agri-food culture. It brings together carefully selected farmers, fishermen and artisans, all members of the “good, clean and fair” network. At more than twenty market stands, visitors can discover the products, meet the people behind them, hear their stories and learn about their daily commitment to quality and sustainability.
Roma Champions Day also includes a wide range of activities for children and families: sensory workshops on food education, taste awareness and responsible consumption; the Pony Village, with games and recreational activities with the ponies; and guided Ippotour visits, giving visitors a behind-the-scenes look at Rome's Capannelle Hippodrome.
The project is curated by Slow Food, a major international movement. Founded in Italy in 1986, it is committed to promoting the right to pleasure and to good, clean and fair food for everyone, as part of the quest for prosperity and happiness for present and future generations and for the entire web of life.
