From September 16th to 22nd, the unmissable annual event, European Mobility Week, returns. This campaign-event is promoted by the European Commission to raise public awareness of sustainable urban mobility issues.
This year, Rome is participating with a broad and rich program of events and initiatives spread across all its municipalities, in which everyone can participate. It's possible in fact, to present an idea, project, or event dedicated to sustainable mobility through the Roma Servizi per la Mobilità website, thus becoming part of the official calendar of Rome's European Mobility Week.
The 2026 theme is "Mobility for All", with a particular focus on intergenerational equity: children, young people, adults, and older people have different needs and face different challenges in their daily travel, at every stage of life. "Mobility for All" means ensuring that everyone can access sustainable transportation, regardless of income, location, gender, or ability.
The event therefore encourages the design of accessible, inclusive transport systems capable of meeting the needs of every generation.
As every year, the call for initiatives is open to groups of individuals, associations, NGOs, social partners, research/educational institutions, local/national authorities, public institutions, and public/private companies. Everyone is invited to join European Mobility Week with actions or events that promote behavioral change toward a more sustainable urban mobility culture.
