This year, L'Angelo e la Luna (The Angel and the Moon), the festival of contemporary circus, dance, music, and theater promoted by the Istituto Pantheon e Castel Sant'Angelo – Directorate of National Museums of the City of Rome, directed by Luca Mercuri, returns: a series of evening events that intertwine contemporary languages and cultural heritage, within the monumental spaces of Castel Sant'Angelo.
The Festival, curated by Anna Selvi, features fifteen shows (forty-one performances) by national and international artists who enliven the Castle's different spaces: from the Court of Alexander VI to the Sala Paolina, from the Bastione San Matteo to the Sala Apollo, from the Cortile dell'Angelo to the Panoramic Terrace. Through shows, concerts, traveling performances, dance, and contemporary circus, the festival gradually encompasses the entire tour, enhancing the spaces of one of the capital's most iconic and historic monuments.
