Tevere Day 2025

Everything is ready for the seventh edition of Tevere Day, the event that celebrates love for the Tiber with a wide range of initiatives, from sport to culture to active living and entertainment, and strengthens the bond between the Tiber and the Romans.

Among this year's new features is the trial of tourist navigation north of the Nazzano Farfa Regional Park, a symbolic and concrete step towards the ecological and tourist use of the river.

Environmental lessons are also back, with schoolchildren from Rome taking part in educational activities on the banks of the Tiber to learn together how to take care of the capital's rich natural heritage.

Along the more than 80 kilometres of river – from Nazzano Farfa to Ostia and Fiumicino – around 150 events are planned to enliven its banks with sports, art, cultural meetings, music, activities for schools, workshops for families, excursions, street food and much more.

But Tevere Day 2025 is also the culmination of a process that has seen growing mobilisation and awareness in recent months thanks to the “Noi Siamo Tevere” (We Are the Tiber) campaign, an initiative conceived and promoted by the Tevere Day Association, which, through voluntary clean-up initiatives and participatory/cultural activities along the river, spreads the message that caring for the Tiber is everyone's duty. This is especially true now that a large stretch of the Roman river has been included among UNESCO's World Heritage Sites.

Among the central themes of the seventh edition, great importance is given to the revitalisation of the parks overlooking the river, especially through sport, green areas along the river, places that are now coming back to life thanks to the commitment of those who care for them, frequent them and take responsibility for them.

It is in this context that the “Noi Siamo Tevere” condominiums were created to protect the river's beauty, guarantee its public use and maintain it over time.
