The traditional Korean dance show by the National Gugak Center Dance Theater & Folk Music Group entitled The prince's dream, directed by Chunghan Kim, arrives at the Teatro Argentina.
At the centre of the show is the narration of the day of a Korean prince who, after completing the official ceremony to celebrate his coming of age, follows the king's desire to learn more about the life of his people in order to become a true sovereign; so he decides to leave the palace to mix with the people, in order to share their joys, sorrows and hopes.
Traditional Korean music accompanies the dance of the dancers dressed in the elegant clothes "Hanbok" (literally translated as "Korean dress"), worn by the nobles of the royal courts, whose origins are intertwined in a thousand-year history and can be traced back to so-called Three Kingdoms period (300 to 668 AD) Goguryeo, Baekje and Silla.
The show is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, the Korean Cultural Institute in Italy and the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange, to celebrate the year of cultural exchange Italy and Korea 2024-2025.
