John Travolta awarded at the Rome Film Festival

 John Travolta - The Fanatic
depuis 15 Octobre 2019 à 27 Octobre 2019

John Travolta, Special Award at the Rome Film Festival for his performance in Fred Durst's The Fanatic.

On October 22, at the Sala Sinopoli, Auditorium Parco della Musica, the actor will receive the prestigious prize and will entertain with the public in an Incontro Ravvicinato (Close Encounter), during which he will present his latest work and will retrace the main stages of his career that spans almost 50 years between cinema, theatre and television.

In Hollywood, dreams often turn into nightmares, Hunter Dunbar, Moose's favorite actor, a movie buff played by Travolta in The Fanatic, knows it well. Obsessed by Dunbar, Moose wants to meet him at all costs. Thanks to a photographer who knows how to find celebrity homes, she begins to haunt him until the story takes a disquieting and definitive turn.

The Fanatic will premiere in Rome on Sunday October 27 at 6 pm at the My Cityplex Savoy cinema.

A versatile actor and one of the most appreciated in the history of cinema, Travolta achieved global success in 1977 with Saturday Night Fever in which he played the dancer Tony Manero. For this role he was nominated for an Oscar® and a Golden Globe for Best Actor.
Success is repeated with another masterpiece: Grease by Randal Kleiser. In 1994, it was the turn of Pulp Fiction by Quentin Tarantino in which the memorable role of Vince Vega earned him his second Oscar nomination.
Over the decades, he has collaborated with some of the greatest contemporary directors including Oliver Stone, Terrence Malick, Brian De Palma, Mike Nichols and John Woo, giving life to films that have become cult.
