Jacopo Fo, Lodo Guenzi – Jacopo Fo talks about Dario Fo's songs

The show Jacopo Fo, Lodo Guenzi – Jacopo Fo talks about Dario Fo's songs at the Casa del Jazz, as part of Concerts in the Park at the Casa del Jazz, is a production created as part of “Ciao Franca”, a festival organized by Coopuf, in partnership with the Municipality of Varese, to celebrate the artistic and civic legacy of Franca Rame, who spent her youth in Varese.

Throughout the show, Jacopo Fo retraces, through narration and singing, the stages of his father's musical research, supported by the studio work of the Coopuf musicians: the narration alternates with a dense musical outline and is enhanced by the special creative direction of Lodo Guenzi, here in dialogue with Jacopo Fo, in his dual role as actor and singer.

For several years, the Compagnia Fo Rame, in collaboration with Coopuf, has embarked on a journey of artistic research to rediscover and enhance the rich and varied musical output of Dario Fo. His numerous collaborations with musicians such as Fiorenzo Carpi, other lyricists such as Giorgio Strehler, and singer-songwriters such as Enzo Jannacci, establish the figure of the great playwright as a fundamental piece in the history of Italian song. The exploration of popular repertoire, fueled by the creative streak that brings that musical legacy to life beyond its folklore aspects, is an essential element of the artistic output of the "jester of Verbano".
