As part of the rich program of the Rome Summer Fest 2026, Goran Bregović is at the Auditorium Parco della Musica for a major concert event with a symphony orchestra, three solo violins, a choir, and the Wedding & Funeral Orchestra. In this concert, the Balkan composer and musician has succeeded in condensing his idea of coexistence in the world, blending musical influences from Christian, Jewish, and Muslim liturgies.
In this concert, Bregović brings the soul of Sarajevo, a city first Roman, then Byzantine, then Ottoman for centuries, then Austro-Hungarian, Yugoslavian, and finally Bosnian, inhabited by Jews, Muslims, Orthodox Christians, and Catholics. A "Jerusalem of Europe”, contested and torn by wars throughout the ages, told through Western, Eastern, and klezmer musical practices. The violin is played according to Western, klezmer, and Eastern classical traditions, here by three different soloists, symbolically uniting the three religions that represent the essence of Sarajevo.
This is why The Belly Button of the World is a concert that makes one dream, travel and, above all, reflect.
