From 17 to 22 March, the contemporary dance triptych concept returns to the stage of the Teatro Costanzi, strongly desired by Eleonora Abbagnato, Director of the Corps de Ballet of the Capitoline theatre, in a new production by the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma.
On stage, three titles by three internationally renowned choreographers - John Neumeier, Jacopo Godani and Benjamin Millepied - staged for the first time in Rome. The performance features the Étoiles, Principal Dancers, Soloists and Corps de Ballet of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, including Alessandra Amato, Susanna Salvi, Alessio Rezza, Federica Maine, Marianna Suriano, Simone Agrò, Claudio Cocino and Michele Satriano, accompanied by the Orchestra conducted by Daniel Capps.
The evening opens with Spring and Fall, a 1991 choreography by Neumeier for the Hamburg Ballett, which, to the music of Antonín Dvořák, plays on the ambivalence of the title: spring and autumn, but also fall and recovery in movement, according to the fundamental principles of movement developed by Doris Humphrey.
Then, Echoes from a Restless Soul, created by Godani in 2016, who also designed the sets, costumes and lighting. The ballet is accompanied by Maurice Ravel's piano melodies performed by Massimo Spada.
The event concludes with Millepied's I Feel the Earth Move, conceived for the American Ballet Theatre in 2017. With the curtain raised, the performance begins to the notes of Philip Glass, while the stagehands dismantle the sets, continuing to the notes of Einstein on the Beach.
