21 summer evenings dedicated to Dante’s masterpiece, the pre-eminent work in Italian literature and one of the greatest works of world literature.
From 20 July to 2 September, every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 9 pm, under Rome’s night sky, Franco Ricordi will masterfully give voice to Dante’s Divine Comedy by reading a selection of cantos that give a complete idea of the Dante’s journey, from the darkness of the Inferno to the divine light of the Paradiso.
Performances take place in the grandiose ruins of the Baths of Caracalla, illuminated in an even more suggestive way. Seven evenings are dedicated to each of the three canticles (Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso) with the music of the hendecasyllables preceded by the comment and the explanation of the text. In the current situation of emergency and instability, which has drastically conditioned the world of culture, thought and the live arts, Dante is today for us what Virgil was for him: a true lifeline.
All events, for which it is necessary to wear a mask in compliance with the safety measures, are free of charge, subject to availability. Reservation is required.
