A monumental site-specific installation by artist Mario Carlo Iusi flanks the course of the Tiber and illuminates Piazza Tevere, the public space dedicated to contemporary arts between Ponte Sisto and Ponte Mazzini.
The project, curated by Tevereterno and carried out in collaboration with Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto, Artivazione, and Acqua Foundation, transforms the riverbank (500 meters along the right bank embankment) into an urban setting, offering two ways to enjoy it: a panoramic and evocative view from the opposite bank or nearby bridges, and a close-up view from the quay in Piazza Tevere.
Light is the true protagonist of the installation, composed of a sequence of luminous rectangular frames of various sizes, suspended horizontally or vertically. It is light, in fact, that guides the attention of viewers and invites them to observe the work slowly, to rediscover those details that might escape a hurried glance. The frames could even disappear, leaving space for the light that reveals, acting as an intermediary between past and present, in a dialogue between emptiness and fullness that is typical of the artist’s research.
