Un’altra moda. Shades and meanings that make every detail of life precious
At the Museo delle Mura, seven themes and 35 shots invite you to a path of reflections and insights dedicated to the relationship between photography, fashion, current events, and inclusivity.
The photographs highlight the garments and accessories used in fashion and everyday life, attempting to subvert their common sense to find deeper, often unseen meanings.
The creator of this journey through the history of fashion and some of its most emblematic objects is Raimondo Rossi, aka Ray Morrison, an artist and photographer very active in the United States and a fresh winner in Hollywood of the Inspired by You award.
The shots capture the individuality and looks of models, it is true, but Rossi's rich reportage goes beyond. What is not evident at first glance is revealed by every single detail on which the artist invites you to reflect through a respectful and conscious approach to the world of fashion on objects, perhaps all too often stereotyped.
Objects that, however, also have symbolic value because they have made long journeys and initiated significant social processes not immediately apparent behind glossy fashion images.
And so, through his shots, Morrison will urge you to tear off that veil and look beyond the outward appearance: to the winding paths made of cultural battles and difficult historical moments, often linked to stories of discrimination or the lives of "heroes" of the past who tied their image to those objects.
Raimondo Rossi is known for his innovative fashion reportages that focus on the stories of models, clothes, and designers. His approach has brought him to the attention of major publications, such as Rolling Stone Italia and Vogue.
His work, produced with entry-level cameras, and his raw, essential vision come from natural or ambient lighting with minimal intervention in post-production rework.
A selection of images from the seven sections awaits you until 7 July for a preview in Piazza San Silvestro, in the heart of the Capitoline shopping Trident.
