An immersive Mixed Reality experience that combines art and culture, gaming and cutting-edge technology, born out of a collaboration between the Museo Nazionale Romano and Fondazione FS, the foundation that safeguards and manages the historical heritage of the Italian railways.

The area around Termini station – a major railway hub through which nearly 500,000 people pass every day – has been at the center of countless lives throughout its two thousand years of history. Magnificent imperial baths, Roman neighborhoods, Renaissance villas, railway stations and modern infrastructure have succeeded and overlapped one another in what is now one of the city’s most historically layered sites, whose evolution can be traced through archaeological excavations, historic buildings and period documents.

The experience, which runs from 10.00 to 18.00 and is included in the price of the museum ticket, takes place inside Palazzo Massimo, one of the venues of the Museo Nazionale Romano. Through reconstructed digital environments, participants are invited to explore the urban transformations that have taken place in the area around Piazza dei Cinquecento and to discover its history and secrets.
