The Sound Worlds Festival, held at the National Museum of Musical Instruments, is dedicated to music as a transversal experience, capable of intertwining sound, words, history, and imagination. The event offers a rich calendar of events, including concerts, listening lessons, meetings, and performances, scheduled until October 31, 2025.
The festival is divided into four thematic sections: Sound Devices – musical instruments, lutherie, ethnomusicology, and new performance practices (under the artistic supervision of Gianluca Dessì); Sound Scenarios – music, theater, and literature (under the artistic supervision of Stefano Saletti); Sound Enchantments – the magic of opera, a world heritage site, listening guides and public participation (under the artistic supervision of Maestro Germano Neri); Sound Universes – Music between folk tradition, cinema, and ancient sounds (under the artistic supervision of Maestro Giuseppe Lanzetta).
The National Museum of Musical Instruments is part of the Pantheon and Castel Sant'Angelo Institute - Directorate of National Museums of the City of Rome, directed ad interim by Luca Mercuri. With its rich collection of ancient and world instruments, the museum hosts an important heritage of musical culture.
The admission ticket also includes a visit to the museum before attending the concerts.
