«Sonora Desert is a perceptual experiment. It is an experiment in the sense that its size and content are not definitive. It is an experiment in the sense that it takes on a different form and meaning for each one. It is an experiment in the sense that it is unguarded and vulnerable”
Within the Oceano Indiano production project, the theater company Muta Imago led by Claudia Sorace and Riccardo Fazi, returns to investigate the relationship between human perception and states of consciousness in their space-time dimension. The show, at the India Theater, is a special preview of the Romaeuropa Festival and uses the original music of Alvin Curran. The project, inspired by a journey made in the Sonora Desert, one of the largest American desert areas on the border between Arizona and Mexico, experiences a hybrid form between installation, concert and sound performance; in an environment of luminous, chromatic and sound vibrations, the viewer enters a deep dimension in which time and the self seem to unify. The scene disappears, and in its place, an imaginary and dreamlike place appears where it is possible to find one's own unconscious memory and its archetypes.
