New visitor itineraries and research projects are being inaugurated at the Museo delle Civiltà; two new symmetrical entrances also open: the one already present in the Palazzo delle Scienze and the one in the Palazzo delle Arti e Tradizioni Popolari, reopened after a restoration of the ground floor area of the building.

The new layout of the museum's prehistoric collections, Prehistory? Stories from the Anthropocene, aims to outline an itinerary that questions the definition of "prehistory", highlighting the material evidence thanks to which we can reconstruct systems of thought, cultural inventions, economic, political and social organizations. Among the important objects we mention the Neanderthal skull Guattari 1 from Circeo, the three "Venuses" from the sites of Savignano, Lago Trasimeno and La Marmotta, and the pirogues recovered from the bottom of Lake Bracciano and hundreds of finds from the Neolithic village of La Marmotta and the Fibula Praenestina. The itinerary is completed by the works and interventions of contemporary artists.

As far as new research projects are concerned, we point out the exhibition by Georges Senga Comment un petit chasseur païen devient Prêtre Catholique. The exhibition, curated by Lucrezia Cippitelli, presents for the first time in a single installation the photographic and filmic works and archival materials of the Congolese artist Georges Senga on the figure of Bonaventure Salumu, a "pagan hunter" who In the 40s and 60s of the twentieth century, after receiving a Christian education from some missionaries, he was ordained a Jesuit priest, moved to Europe, and then returned to his native village, where he became a husband and father. The exhibition project, through the history of Salumu, investigates the pre-colonial and post-colonial relations between Europe and Africa, starting from the 16th century and up to modernity. A monographic catalog is published on the occasion of the exhibition.
