An exhibition dedicated to human rights, featuring the faces of men and women who have been victims of the most serious violations of these rights: people from all walks of life who have been detained without cause or illegally, regularly tortured, deprived of medical care, visits from relatives and the possibility of having a defense lawyer.
The free exhibition organised in the Basilica of Santa Maria in Montesanto by the association I Convitati, with the patronage of Amnesty International - IDHAE (Institute for Human Rights - Lawyers of Europe) will keep the spotlight on those who suffer as a result of abuses of power. It aims to bring out of the shadows of death and the coldness of prison the names, faces and stories of thousands of people who have been victims of persecution, sometimes simply for expressing an opinion, and who have too often been forgotten by our society and the media.
The exhibition can be defined as a large virtual square where prisoners, the world of solidarity, artists and visitors meet, guests seated ideally around a table on which, instead of food and as food, there is compassion, sharing of pain, and demands for justice for the innocent and men of peace.
