Feast of St. John 2025 in Rome

Festa di San Giovanni 2025 a Roma-Foto: turismoroma

On June 24, 2025, Rome celebrates the Feast of St. John the Baptist, one of the city's oldest and most beloved religious festivals. This celebration, deeply rooted in Roman tradition, is characterized by moments of faith combined with folklore and gastronomy, in an engaging and familiar atmosphere.

St. John the Baptist is the patron saint of the city together with St. Peter and St. Paul, and his feast is celebrated with events that involve both the historic centre and the more peripheral areas of the capital. The Basilica of St. John Lateran, which is also the cathedral of Rome, is the nerve centre of the feast, where the most solemn religious functions take place.

This year too, in fact, the celebrations of the feast begin with solemn masses at the Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano, to continue then outside with a real popular festival with music, street artists, games for children and traditional dishes that fill the square and the nearby streets.
