Eur Culture per Roma

This year too, Eur Culture for Rome the program of events, culture and shows created and promoted by EUR SpA, with the artistic direction of Oscar Pizzo, which aims to make Eur a new, important cultural hub of the city, is back. 

The event, now in its third edition, includes a series of concerts and shows for a wide audience, ranging from classical music to dance, from songwriting to jazz music, without forgetting a part dedicated to an audience of students. From December to April, art and music will therefore have ample space among the rationalist and contemporary buildings of EUR, a neighborhood that has always been open to innovation and the future.

The programming of this edition is also enriched by an educational program EUR Culture Educational, which offers meetings and appointments for schools and open to the public at the Museum of Civilizations, at the MAXXI - National Museum of XXI Century Arts, at the Central State Archives and of course the Nuvola.

Among the most important events we would like to point out at the beginning of the new year, after the success of the previous two editions, The Symphonic Dialogues, a project by Europa InCanto Orchestra in collaboration with EUR SpA and with the support of Poste Italiane, which is holding four meetings-concerts in the Auditorium della Nuvola, while in December at Palazzo dei Congressi he accompanies the live screening of an animated classic The Snowman by Raymond Briggs. Closing The Symphonic Dialogues series in April is Ballet Hour: up and down from pointe; on this occasion the orchestra will perform Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune by Claude Debussy and The Nutcracker by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky; In the show is explained how the music for the ballet was written to be functional to the dance.

 In February Tony Hadley, former frontman of Spandau Ballet, takes the stage at the Eur Congress Center on the Roman leg of his new tour. The tour is organized by IMARTS - International Music And Arts. In March, however, at the Nuvola there is one of the most anticipated events: the world premiere of the show Dancing with Glass, a tribute to Philipp Glass, the greatest living American composer. Produced by Franco Laera, Change Performing Arts, the show makes use of the artistic coordination and choreography of an icon of world dance, Lucinda Childs.

 The event is held thanks to the collaboration with some of the most important cultural institutions in the city, such as the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, the MAXXI - National Museum of 21st Century Arts and the Museum of Civilizations.
