The violin rock star returns to the Capital for a concert of his Ara World Tour at the Auditorium Parco della Musica as part of the Roma Summer Fest 2022.
The artist performs on the stage of the Cavea, accompanied by his new and spectacular band of excellent Cuban musicians. He presents Ara, his latest album inspired by his son and the rediscovery of the magic and wonder of childhood.
Born in 1968, the Spanish musician of Lebanese origin and Armenian descent is one of the most brilliant violinists on the contemporary scene: his style is an irresistible mix of classical tradition, Armenian popular music with Middle Eastern influences, tango and flamenco, and overwhelming touches of rock, punk and electronics.
Enfant prodige, Malikian approached music at a very young age, finding refuge from the Lebanese civil war in the study of the violin.
His impeccable technique and undeniable talent led him to perform in his first concert at 12, two years before leaving his country to move to Europe due to the conflict.
He collaborated with famous contemporary composers, such as Franco Donatoni, Malcolm Lipkin, Luciano Chailly, and Alberto Iglesias - for the soundtracks of Pedro Almodovar's Talk to Her and Bad Education, and Pascal Gainge for the movie El otro barrio by Salvador García Ruiz.
Malikian boasts an extraordinary and unstoppable career, studded with numerous awards, including two Music Awards for New Music Best Album (2006) and Best Classical Music Performer (2007) and the prestigious Niccolò Paganini Award, and solo concerts all over the world, under the direction of the greatest international conductors.
