A wide and varied summer program in a year that marks an important anniversary: to celebrate its tenth birthday, Cinecittà Shows Off – the permanent exhibition that since 2011 opens to the public the famed Dream Factory of Cinecittà Studios along Via Tuscolana – offers its visitors the opportunity to experience Cinecittà as an “open-air museum” with new and original events suitable for an audience of all ages.
Now in its second edition, “Alla luce dell'estate” widens the cultural offer put in place by Istituto Luce Cinecittà until 5 September. In addition to the exhibitions in the historic buildings, the visit to the permanent sets and the immersive MIAC museum dedicated to motion pictures, every Sunday the entrance ticket includes, for example, exclusive guided tours to learn about the history of the temple of the cinema, its architecture and its protagonists. On Saturdays, the program includes animated visits and outdoor workshops specially designed for families and children. Until 23 August, it is then possible to visit the photographic exhibition “Prove di libertà” by Riccardo Ghilardi, with intimate and unpublished portraits of great protagonists of Italian cinema, taken in the months of the first lockdown, and images of some iconic city sites left deserted.
The summer offer is completed by guided tours in French (Saturday at 11.30am) and in English (Sunday at 11.30am) to allow foreign audiences to experience all the magic of the Studios, traveling in time through the three permanent sets of Ancient Rome, the Temple of Jerusalem and Florence in 1400s.
