The garden of Sant’Andrea al Quirinale

Giardino di Sant'Andrea al Quirinale foto sito ufficiale

The garden of Sant’Andrea al Quirinale is located in the Rione Monti, between the church of S. Andrea and that of S. Carlino alle Quattro Fontane and is annexed to the convent of S. Andrea al Quirinale.

The origin of the garden dates back to the missionaries of the convent who, returning from distant countries, brought back unknown and exotic plants, such as cedars or camphor, which can still be admired today in the park.

The garden, as we can see it today, was designed by the royal gardener Giuseppe Roda at the end of the 1800s and is part of the urban arrangements that took place after the unification of Italy.

The park, opened to the public in 1969, also includes a children's playing area.
