Die Zauberflöte

For the first time in Rome, the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma hosts the famous Singspiel by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, directed by Damiano Michieletto, in a production by the Teatro la Fenice di Venezia in a co-production with the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.

In the Venetian director's vision, the Austrian composer's masterpiece is set in a school, where Sarastro, the Queen of the Night, and Papageno move in an atmosphere suspended between reason and dogmatism, and the young Tamino and Pamina are in search of their growth and individuality. 

On stage, an extraordinary cast, including Juan Francisco Gatell (Tamino), Emőke Baráth (Pamina), Markus Werba (Papageno), Olga Pudova (Queen of the Night) and John Relyea (Sarastro), accompanied by the Teatro dell'Opera Orchestra conducted by Michele Spotti, Music Director of the Marseille's Opera House, debuting in Rome.
