Big Fat Band

The band derives from a project born from the shared passion between Clara Simonoviez and Massimo Pirone and his Fat Combo for the high American standards from Gershwin to Porter.

The musicians propose at the same time tradition and reinterpretation, creating a unique musical journey through the most famous American melodies. The Fat Combo is composed of 4 winds plus piano, double bass, and drums, a real little big band that includes, among others, Carlo Capobianchi on trumpet.

For the occasion, Massimo Pirone's Big Fat Band and Chorus dedicate the performance to the Swing era and Broadway and Hollywood music with the most famous songs by Dorsey, Ellington, Miller, Basie, Goodman, and to the timeless melodies sung by Sinatra, Martin, Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby of the greatest composers such as George Gershwin Cole Porter, Jerome Kern.

Pirrone has played with some of the most acclaimed international artists, including Chaka Khan, Dionne Warwick, and Natalie Cole.
