The XXIV International Festival of Sacred Music and Art, which takes place in several historic basilicas and churches in Rome, is dedicated this year to Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (1525-1594), on the 500th anniversary of his birth.
This event brings together over six hundred musicians from around the world for a series of concerts and liturgies by the greatest composers of all time. Promoted and organized by the Fondazione Pro Musica e Arte Sacra, the event is considered one of the most important and eagerly awaited events on the international musical and spiritual scene.
Since its inception in 2002, the aim of the Fondazione Pro Musica e Arte Sacra has been to promote sacred music by organizing concerts and festivals, to promote and enhance sacred art and its sacred cultural heritage, and to contribute to the conservation of these heritage by allocating specific contributions dedicated to the recovery of individual works of sacred art.
