Officially started with the opening of the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica on 24 December 2024, the Jubilee 2025 is the 27th ordinary universal jubilee in the history of the Church and the second jubilee celebrated by the current pontiff after the extraordinary one in 2015.
The entire jubilee period is characterized by a rich calendar of religious, cultural and social events. Aside from celebrations and rituals addressed to all the faithful, the Holy Year’s program includes several “jubilees” dedicated to different categories of people, identified according to specific professions or their role within the family, the Church and society. Each one includes moments of dialogue and spirituality, with a concluding mass celebrated by the pope.
The days from 28 to 29 July are dedicated to all those who work in the digital environment, sharing the message of the Gospel on social networks, blogs, channels and apps. The program will begin on Monday 28 July with a welcome mass in the church of Santo Spirito in Sassia. The day will continue with workshops, round tables and presentations on various aspects of digital evangelization at the Auditorium Conciliazione, ending with a prayer vigil and a liturgy of penitence in St. Peter’s Basilica (from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.). On Tuesday 29t, evangelizers can participate to the pilgrimage to the holy door of St. Peter’s Basilica and to the Eucharistic celebration. In the afternoon, the Auditorium Conciliazione will host the ecumenical gathering “Together for Hope” (in person and online), followed by the “Missionary Rally - Seekers of Hope”, a game through the streets of Rome to share hope through social media. The Jubilee of Digital Missionaries and Catholic Influencers will close in Piazza Risorgimento with the “Festival of Digital Influencers”, an evening of music, creativity, and diversity.
