About one hundred images showing a different Rome from that celebrated in classical iconography by virtue of its monumental beauties, hidden and almost unknown to tourists but inhabited and lived by over half of Roman citizens.
Winner of four World Press Photos, Massimo Siragusa has chosen for his exhibition a subject he has known and studied for some time: the Roman suburbs, different from each other but united by the same visual and architectural anarchy and the same contradictions, with gates, railings, walls, trees, archaeological finds and cars that overlap and merge.
In this extraordinary and unique visual chaos, the careful gaze of his camera captures relationships, passages, dialogues: the result is almost a documentary, with landscapes in which relics from the past and the ancient splendor of Rome coexist with the buildings of the Sixties, with the streets transformed into parking lots and illegal buildings.
