If we read its letters from right to left, the word “Roma” becomes “Amor”, the Latin for love, and this was, according to an ancient belief, the secret and magical name of the city... Specially thought for Romans and tourists in love with the wonders of love and Rome, “Musei in Love” is a unique opportunity to celebrate Valentine’s Day in a very special way, in the name of art, history, culture, tradition, and legend.
The event includes nine appointments, walking among the monuments and streets of the city, which were silent witnesses or complicit spectators of clandestine encounters and courtships, immortal loves and stories of ordinary people. From the Circus Maximus to the slopes of the Celio Hill, from the Columbarium of Pomponius Hylas to Ponte Milvio, the story-tours promoted by Roma Capitale - Department of Cultural Growth guide us to discover the heart of the city, ending with the stars of the Planetarium of the Museo Civico di Zoologia, a journey into the sky to reveal the many passions that are consumed on our heads every night.
All activities are free of charge, according to availability, with booking required by calling at +39060608. Tickets are required for entering the archaeological sites and the Civic Museum of Zoology (free entrance for MIC card owners). The complete program is available here.
