Irresistible, rhythmic and joyful: Stomp, the most overwhelming Broadway show in the world, is staged at Teatro Brancaccio.
The ensemble from Brighton, born from the creativity of Luke Cresswell, John Mc Auley and Steve McNicholas, boasts more than 25 years of activity and success in the most important festivals and theatres all over the world, and a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Choreography.
In a setting with urban elements, the extraordinary dancers-percussionists-actors-acrobats transform everyday chaos in contagious rhythm, through objects of common use: brooms, brushes, tires, sinks and garbage cans, accompanied by the performers' hands clapping, turn into instruments, conversations and percussion.
A mix of different languages that, between dance, theatre and music, embraces the fun of silent movie, the transgression of heavy metal, the energy of breakdance, the charm of tip-tap, and launches a challenge to pollution: between crashing, smashing, swishing, banging and kicking, you’ll be dancing in your seats!
It is humour, urban choreography, fantasy and ingenuity. Without plot, without characters, without words: only pure dynamism, great theatre, pure magic.
