A sustainable way of enjoying the Christmas lights and surviving the latest, hectic days of last-minute Christmas shopping: until 6 January, a special bus runs through the city center every 15 minutes, stopping just a few steps away from the most iconic shopping streets, from Via del Corso to Via del Babbuino, Piazza di Spagna and Piazza Venezia, where the so-called Spelacchio Christmas tree dominates.
The “Shopping” bus line is active every day from 10.30 am to 8.00 pm, except for 25 and 26 December and 1st January. It has a circular route and, more importantly, is served exclusively by 100% zero-emission electric minibusses. From Porta Pinciana, at the top of Via Veneto, you can reach the main nodes of the bus network and the nearby car parks of Via Ludovisi, Villa Borghese and Piazza Cavour, to reduce traffic pollution and the number of private cars on the streets.
To further support transport services over Christmas, on 22 December and 6 January the bus line 119 (Piazza Venezia-Via del Corso-Piazza di Spagna-Piazza del Popolo-Piazza Augusto Imperatore-Via del Corso-Piazza Venezia) is also extended. During the Christmas shopping period, the metro lines A and B-B1 will also be upgraded with additional trains compared to the normal service.
