The archaeological area of the Circus Maximus celebrates the historic landing of the Apollo 11 spacecraft with a special event: from 8:30 pm to midnight, with the assistance of astronomers and researchers from the National Institute of Astrophysics - INAF, it will be possible to observe our satellite more closely, through telescopes placed on the lawn and large-screen projections.
To enrich the program, a selection of texts dedicated to the moon, taken from Plutarch, Galileo and Victor Hugo, will be presented.
The entrance, from Viale Aventino, is subject to availability. The entrance fee is 1 euro and is free for MIC card holders.
The initiative is promoted by Roma Capitale, Assessorato alla Crescita Culturale - Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali and is curated by the astronomers of the Planetario di Roma Capitale, in collaboration with INAF.
