The Rome City Council has given the go-ahead to the resolution setting out the dates for the days on which internal combustion engine vehicles are completely banned from the ‘Fascia Verde’ restricted traffic zone (ZTL).
Eco-Sundays are among the measures aimed at preventing and reducing air pollution; they also play an important role in raising public awareness and engaging citizens on environmental issues. With this aim in mind, themed events will be organised in various parts of the city on these traffic-free days.
There are five ‘eco-Sundays’ scheduled for the 2026–2027 season.
Here are the dates:
- 15 November 2026
- 6 December 2026
- 24 January 2027
- 21 February 2027
- 21 March 2027
On these dates, a total ban on vehicles with internal combustion engines within the Green Zone (ZTL Fascia Verde) will be in force between 7.30 am and 12.30 pm and 4.30 pm and 8.30 pm.
Details regarding the emission class of the vehicles concerned, any categories subject to derogations or exemptions from the bans, and any changes to dates and times will be set out in the individual orders issued for each date.
