Named after one of the leading figures in Italian culture and the history of singer-songwriting, the “Premio Fabrizio De André - Parlare musica” was established in 2002 as a tribute to the Genoese singer-songwriter and to promote young and emerging talent in the fields of music, art and poetry.
The award is sponsored by the Fabrizio De André Onlus Foundation and organised by iCompany, under the artistic direction of Luisa Melis. It encompasses three categories (“Music”, “Poetry” and “Painting”), which are evaluated by a jury chaired by Dori Ghezzi and comprising writers, journalists, music critics and industry professionals.
Pending the completion of the redevelopment work on the historic square named after the singer-songwriter in the Magliana district, this year’s event is moving to the nearby Villa Bonelli. The two evenings, with free admission, are promoted and supported by the Assessorato alla Cultura e al Coordinamento delle iniziative riconducibili alla Giornata della Memoria di Roma Capitale, coordinated by the Department of Cultural Activities, in collaboration with Rome’s 11th Municipal District and with organisational support from Zètema Progetto Cultura.
The event will be hosted by Paolo Talanca. It will feature the winners of the Targa Faber (Renato Zero and Paolo Rossi) and the Targa Quelli che cantano Fabrizio (for those who reinterpret De André’s works, awarded this year to Setak and Medit Orchestra), the winners of the poetry section (Roberto Cafarotti with “Human Egg”) and the painting section (Roberta De Falco with “Trenta gradi”), as well as the finalists in the music section (Altrove, Coppola, Emme Di Modesto, Gianaldo Sangalli, Mano Manita, Milomaria, Miriam Ricordi, Nùma, Rossana De Pace, Stramare). Special guests are Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi, Andrea Rivera and Claudio Covato (winner of the music category in last year’s edition).
