Villaggio Arma a Villa Borghese

Villaggio Arma 2026

The Arma dei Carabinieri (the national gendarmerie of Italy) celebrates its 212th Anniversary at Villa Borghese with the Villaggio Arma, an immersive event showcasing the Institution in all its branches and specialist units to the wider community. Open for four days, from 9:00 am to 8:30 pm (until 10:00 pm on Saturday 6 June), the Village offers exhibitions, simulations, hands-on experiences and live demonstrations.

Activities for Children and Families
Each morning begins with activities dedicated to younger visitors. Children from primary and lower secondary schools can ride horses under the guidance of instructors from the 4° Reggimento Carabinieri a Cavallo and learn about the traditional craft of horseshoe fitting and hoof care.

Crime Investigation Experiences
If you are interested in forensic science, experts from the Raggruppamento Carabinieri Investigazioni Scientifiche (RaCIS) offer an interactive 3D experience that recreates a crime scene through virtual reality headsets, providing an engaging and educational insight into investigative work.
Using UV light technology, the Nucleo Operativo Antifalsificazione Monetaria demonstrates how to identify counterfeit banknotes by revealing security features invisible to the naked eye.
The Nucleo Subacquei brings a simulation tank to Villa Borghese, where visitors can operate a remotely controlled underwater robot and advanced equipment to recover submerged objects, just as happens during real underwater operations.

Technology and Safety
Among the main attractions is a killing house, a specialist training environment designed to simulate emergency scenarios. Here, Carabinieri bomb disposal experts and the Squadre Speciali (API) demonstrate how explosive threats are identified and neutralised.
To raise awareness of the dangers of impaired driving, the “Percorso Ebrezza” allows you to wear special goggles that simulate the effects of alcohol and drugs under the supervision of personnel from the Radiomobile.
You can also experience a 360-degree virtual reality driving simulator, offering a realistic and immersive driving experience.

Sport and Prevention
The Village is also an ideal opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities and discover the commitment of the Arma dei Carabinieri to promoting healthy lifestyles. You can watch fencing demonstrations and take part in self-defence sessions on the tatami, led by athletes from the Centro Sportivo Carabinieri.
Among the most engaging activities, you can test their skills on a ski simulator or tackle a climbing wall under the supervision of instructors from the Centro Addestramento Alpino dell’Arma. These dynamic and educational experiences are suitable for all ages and designed to encourage coordination, concentration and teamwork.
There is also a strong focus on prevention and first aid training. Through practical BLSD (Basic Life Support and Defibrillation) exercises, you can learn essential life-saving techniques, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and airway obstruction clearance procedures, with training available on both adult and paediatric manikins.

Entertainment and the Environment
At the Galoppatoio, riders showcase their skills in show jumping demonstrations.
Biodiversity takes centre stage in a dedicated “village within the village”, where the Carabinieri Forestali guide you through local flora and fauna while explaining the various stages of post-wildfire forest ecosystem regeneration.

Grand Finale
On Sunday 7 June, from 7:00 pm, the Villaggio Arma concludes in Piazza di Siena with the traditional Carosello equestre performed by the 4° Reggimento Carabinieri a Cavallo, followed by a concert by the Banda dell’Arma, performing a selection of classical and contemporary pieces from the Terrazza del Pincio.

Special Opening of the Comando Generale
On 5 and 6 June, the Comando Generale on Viale Romania will exceptionally open its doors to the public. Admission is free, subject to prior booking.

You can follow the main events live on the Arma’s YouTube channel and on screens located throughout the Villaggio Arma.
