From 19 to 23 March the celebrations for the local Feast of San Giuseppe are back, a traditional moment of celebration for the community of the Trionfale district, which has as its culminating moment the historic religious procession through the streets of the area on 19 March. Among others, the culminating moments of the festival stand out, namely the charity fishing, the bonfires of Saint Joseph and blessing of the fire, gastronomic stalls, pancakes and cream puffs of Saint Joseph and the traditional fireworks display at the end of the festival.
Lately, the funding provided for the local festivals has been expanded and in addition to the four historic local festivals already consolidated in the city fabric - the festival of San Giuseppe al Trionfale (in March), the festival of Santa Maria Liberatrice in Testaccio (in May), the festa de Noantri in Trastevere (in July) and the Ottobrata Monticiana in the Rione Monti (in October) - four new events of equal importance have been included, the festival of San Giovanni (in June); the feast of the re-enactment of the Madonna della Neve - Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore (in August); the Ansa Barocca festival - area of the Ponte, Parione and Regola districts (in October) and the feast of San Clemente - via San Giovanni in Laterano (in November).
The Capitoline administration in fact, has expanded the local festivals, as a further step in strengthening the historical path of the centre of Rome, in the idea that the local festivals are an authentic expression of the soul of the city.
